SWDRA meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month.  Meetings are located at Shoney’s (located on the corner of Menaul & Louisiana)

 

All members will be required to sign an agreement form after joining to confirm that they have received all rules and regulations for SWDRA

SWDRA POINTS SYSTEM AND RULES

2010 RACING SEASON

 

Rules and Regulations for SWDRA Members

 

To become a SWDRA member is a $25.00 annual membership fee per class.  This allows a racer to turn in points to accrue for awards at the end of a racing season.  A racer may run in more than one class providing they have paid additional membership fees.  Points are only awarded to a driver not a car or car number.

 

Point slips will be filled out completely and all slips will be submitted in run order.  No slips will be accepted without a SWDRA points form.  Forms can be printed off the www.nmswdra.com website or pick up at monthly SWDRA meetings.  Also available at the Albuquerque Dragway with current SWDRA Board Members.

 

Board members are elected every 2 years.  End of 2010 new Vice-president and Treasurer/Secretary elected to serve till 2012.  The end of 2011 the elections for President will take place.  November meeting SWDRA will accept nominations and December for voting.  January new Board members take positions.

 

President resides over monthly meetings.

Vice-President handles all collection and calculating of members points

Treasurer/Secretary records all meetings and handles all monies.

 

Board members will resolve all point disputes and problems among SWDRA members.

 

1.      A racer is awarded 100 points for each round that a racer competes in. 

2.      Bonus points:

a.  Winner – 100 points

b.  Runner Up – 75 points

c.  Semi Finalist – 50 points

d.  Perfect Reaction Time with a win – 100 points

e.  Perfect Dial-In with a win – 100 points

f.  Combination of Perfect Reaction Time and Perfect Dial-in with a win  - 300 points.

g.  Out of town points – 10 points per round, first round only add 50 points.

3.      Racers can only turn in points for the class they have paid to run in.  A racer may pay and run in more than one class.  For events in which classes are different from the local system, the racer will receive points in the class the racer specifies on the  points form. Examples below:

            a.  Super Pro – Super Street, Super Gas, Super Comp, Top Sportsman, Top

                 Dragster.

            b.  Pro – Sportsman, Stock, Super Stock, Super Pro (ROSWELL TRACK    

                 ONLY).

            c.  Trophy -   Super Pro, cars running electronics. Footbrake, cars not running  

                 electronics (ROSWELL TRACK ONLY).

                

 

4.      Racers have only 30 days from the end of a race to turn in time slips. Postmarks will not be accepted.  Must be to Board member on the 30 day.

5.      Late year points (November and early December) must be turned in no later than the  December meeting.  Points will be final on December 15. Points can not be more than 30 days old. 

6.      In the event of a race which permits buy-backs, points WILL NOT be earned for rounds after the buy back.

7.      Racers are responsible for his or her own points!  Any questions regarding a racer’s points must be raised within 30 days of points being posted.

8.      SWDRA only calculates your ten best races.  These races are combined with in town and out of town races.

9.      The Board members have the right to refuse any and all time slips that they feel are not legitimate.  Board members will sign off on points turned in to revue for accuracy.  Corrected points are still to be resubmitted within the original 30 day time period.

10.    Only one race per points slip…if a track is hosting more than one event in a weekend they are considered different races and each event will be required to have its own slip.

11.       If a racer’s car breaks before eliminations and hosting track allows racer to run alternate car in an alternate class.  Points will not be accepted for that race.

12.    In the event of a tie for any position in the points standing at the end of the season, the higher position will be awarded by the following criteria:

a.  Number of 1st Place finishes

b.  Number of 2nd Place finishes

c.  Number of Semifinalist finishes

d.  Combined number of perfect lights and perfect runs on dial-in

e.  Flip a coin…

13.    Per By-Laws: Article 3, Section C - Expulsion of Members

Any individual maybe banned from SWDRA by management.  Any member of the Association who fails to comply with the Rules and By-Laws of the Association of who conducts himself or herself in a manner detrimental to the Association shall, upon finding of such facts by the Executive committee after a hearing, be expelled and his or her membership and the privileges conferred thereby shall be revoked.

14.       No Trophy or Gambler races from Friday night Test-N-Tunes or off  weekend  

            grudge races will be excepted.  No single run Dash for Cash, Run for the Money

            races will be accepted.  Scheduled Bracket Bonus races will be accepted after

            review.  The SWDRA Board Members have the right to review and deny points 

            turned in on any race.  If a racer has a question if a certain race will be allowed 

            they can meet with all 3 Board Members for review.
